Renewable Energy Resources – IBEF India
India’s rapid economic growth and population expansion have resulted in increased energy demand, making it a major focus of the country’s development planning.
The Indian government has made significant efforts to meet this demand by investing heavily in renewable energy sources.
As of October 2022, India had an installed renewable energy capacity of 165.94 GW, representing 40.6% of the overall installed power capacity.
Over the years, India has received significant foreign investments in its non-conventional energy sector, with an inflow of US$12.57 billion between April 2000-June 2022.
