Chelating Resin | Alfa Chemistry

Chelating resin refers to a class of ion exchange resins with cross-linked polymers (such as styrene/divinylbenzene resin) as the skeleton and containing special functional groups that can undergo coordination reactions with metal ions to form coordination complexes.

Compared with the electrostatic adsorption of anion and cation resins, the coordination reaction of chelating resins has stronger binding force with metal ions and higher selectivity.

Chelating resin is generally prepared by polymer chemical reactions, and monomers containing ligands can also be polymerized or copolymerized into resins containing ligands in the polymer backbone or side chains.
